Job Summary
The Accounting Manager position is responsible for providing strategic direction, coordination, and management of the company's accounting functions. This position supervises all accounting functions including payroll, tax, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and fixed assets. This position is essential in ensuring critical compliance requirements are met and report on the financial health of Bristol Alliance of Companies (Bristol Industries) but also is a key service provider to employees and managers.

Essential Functions
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.
- Ensure financial accuracy across all company operations and maintain compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Prepare financial reports, periodic activity updates, and annual budget proposals for senior management.
- Maintain Compliance with regulatory agencies – including SBA and DCAA
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities that support strategic decision‑making.
- Manage and mentor accounting staff, delegating tasks and ensuring high performance.
- Develop and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Manage cash, including the management of bank accounts and access via the bank system portal.
- Oversee payroll and business tax registration and compliances, managing complex multi-state tax issues, ensuring accurate collection and remittance of state and local taxes.
- Develop the annual accounting budget and track adherence to budget.
- Oversee annual audit preparations and completion.
- Complete annual 8(a) update submittals, DCAA Incurred Cost Proposals (ICE schedules), SAM data requests, 941 to GL reconciliation, and profit-sharing contribution reconciliation/payment.
- Facilitate annual insurance renewals.
- Demonstrate strong leadership & team-building skills, developing and mentoring accounting staff. This includes setting performance goals, conducting performance evaluations, and fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team environment.
- Continually review systems, workflows, process and staffing to ensure operational efficiencies and accuracy of data.
- Meet deadlines – both internal and external.
- Other duties as assigned.
Competencies
- Knowledge of GAAP, job cost, and government accounting.
- Knowledge of DCAA requirements, including FAR 31 and ICE schedules.
- Skilled in Excel and report writing.
- Knowledge of general finance, treasury, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Skilled in the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe products
- Skilled in data evaluation, statistical compilation, and report generation.
- Skilled in financial result consolidation, reporting, and implementation of accounting procedures.
- Knowledge working with multiple types of accounting and other financial systems, leveraging processes, workflows, and employee talent to maximize efficiency.
- Skilled in collaboration with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to be highly proactive and planful, with a proven track record in successful transformation projects.
- Skilled in verbal and written communication.
- Ability to pay attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform well under stress.
- Knowledge of the Small Business Administration’s 8(a) program.
Required Education and Experience
- BA/BBA/BS in business, accounting, or finance.
- Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in corporate accounting/finance and 3 years in a management role.
- Minimum of 3 years working for a government contractor, preferably with a focus in construction.
- Experience with Alaska Native Corporations.
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Education and Experience
- CPA, CMA, or CFMA certification.
- Experience with Unanet GovCon ERP
- Experience with UKG Pro

- Lifting: must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
