About the position
Our client is a $x0M series B SaaS startup that is backed by a prestigious VC firm and is looking for an accounting manager to join their team due to growth. This role is 100% remote; however, the candidate must be based in the west coast. Please ensure that you meet the location requirements and upload your resume to be considered.
Responsibilities
• Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
• Own month end close and GL management.
• Manage SaaS revenue recognition processes in accordance with ASC 606.
• Oversee billing, collections, and revenue forecasting.
• Perform regular reconciliations of accounts, including bank, general ledger, and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Provide insights and recommendations for financial planning and strategy.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely completion and resolution of audit findings.
• Maintain documentation and adherence to internal controls and compliance requirements.
• Manage and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development.
• Work directly with upper-level management, including oversight of financial performance to VC investors on a monthly basis.
Requirements
• Bachelor's (or Master's) degree in Accounting
• CPA
• Big 4 background
• 5 years minimum experience, with at least 1-2 years as a senior accountant for a Company within the SaaS industry
• Multilocation and/or multi-product pricing model will set you apart from the competition
• Experience with QB a plus, if you have implemented a larger ERP (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, etc.), even better
• Assisted with the scale of a business and have the ability to interact cross-functionally
• Prior IPO experience or exit from VC, Series B+ preferred
• Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP
