Position Overview We are looking for an experienced AI Application Engineer to build and deploy cross-platform AI applications that run locally—on Windows, iOS, Android, and Mac—on top of the OpenInfer Runtime Stack. The ideal candidate is fluent in C++ and Rust, has delivered complex, production-grade applications, and is comfortable integrating with advanced system runtimes. Strong communication skills and a familiarity with ToolCalling features such as Model Context Protocol (MCP) are essential. Experience in web application development and security practices such as sandboxing is preferred. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and deploy local-first AI applications across Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android. • Integrate directly with the OpenInfer Runtime Stack using C++ and Rust. • Implement advanced ToolCalling features including protocols such as MCP. • Build web and native interfaces that interact seamlessly with OpenInfer APIs. • Optimize applications for real-time performance and minimal memory/power usage. • Communicate clearly and regularly with internal teams and external stakeholders. Required Qualifications • Cross-Platform App Development: Proven experience building and deploying applications on Windows, Mac, iOS, Android. • Language Proficiency: Strong in C++ and Rust; able to integrate at the runtime/system level. • Application Experience: Has built and deployed complex AI-driven applications. Please include references or case studies. • ToolCalling: Experience working with context-aware or tool-invoking architectures (e.g., MCP or similar frameworks). • Web Development: Experience developing web applications with clean integration into native backends. • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications • Security Awareness: Familiarity with security features including sandboxing, permissions, and data isolation. • JavaScript Experience: Ability to develop interactive UI and logic with JavaScript, including use with webviews or Electron. • Mobile Native Development: Knowledge of Android NDK, Swift, and/or Kotlin. • Performance Profiling: Comfortable profiling and tuning for constrained devices. • Open Source Contributions: Previous contributions to relevant projects in AI, systems, or runtime infrastructure.
