ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF COUNSELING (CORE FACULTY) About Culver-Stockton College: Culver-Stockton College is a dynamic and student-centered institution located in the heart of the Midwest. Position Description: Culver-Stockton invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Counselor Education. This full-time, 12-month, remote position begins in the fall of 2026 and offers the opportunity to join a dynamic and collaborative Department. Conversion to a tenure-track position is a possibility. The college seeks a Counselor Educator Core Faculty member with the ability to teach a variety of counseling courses, Practicum, Internship, and specialty areas of Clinical Mental Health and/or School Counseling. The successful candidate will design and teach online courses and in-person week-long residencies, apply CACREP Standards, provide clinical supervision, advise students, and provide service to the department, college, community, and profession. In addition, the candidate will relate professional and industry experience to learning by the continuation of professional skills development, the introduction of industry perspective into courses, and the active awareness of professional industry trends and opportunities. About the Counseling Department: Culver-Stockton College offers a 60-credit M.A. in Counseling degree with specializations in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and/or School Counseling. This degree prepares students to pursue licensure in most states or certification as a school counselor. The program is designed for working adults with classes offered online, live virtual classes, and week-long campus residencies. The program is actively pursuing CACREP accreditation and is awaiting confirmation of site visit dates anticipated for summer or fall 2026. Responsibilities: • Design and deliver engaging counseling-related courses applying CACREP Standards with commitment to belongingness, fairness, and empowerment, and incorporating experiential learning opportunities, such as case studies and counseling skills simulations. • Supervise students completing clinical fieldwork in practicum and internship. • Advise and mentor students on academic and professional counselor identity development. • Engage in scholarly activities or professional practice in the field of counseling. • Contribute to the ongoing growth of the Department of Counselor Education through curriculum development, assessment activities, and accreditation efforts. • Assist with recruitment and retention efforts for students. • Participate in departmental, college-wide, and community service activities. Qualifications: • Doctorate in Counselor Education & Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program. • ABD will be considered; degree must be conferred at the time of the appointment. • Specialization in Clinical Mental Health and/or School Counseling is required, specifically being a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and/or certification as a School Counselor. • Evidence of a strong professional counseling identity that includes memberships in professional counseling organizations and evidence of sustained professional engagement in the counseling field. • Previous teaching experience is desirable.
