We are a boutique matrimonial and family law firm dedicated to exceptional client service with professionalism and discretion. We’re seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive Bookkeeping & Payroll Support Specialist to maintain accurate financial records and keep our books CPA-ready.
Job Responsibilities
Bookkeeping (QuickBooks Online)
Maintain and reconcile QuickBooks Online
Categorize transactions accurately and consistently
Complete monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
Coordinate with Billing Specialists to reconcile trust accounts
Track firm expenses and ensure proper coding (including advertising/marketing)
Assist with monthly Profit & Loss reporting and basic financial reporting for CPA review
Maintain organized documentation/receipts and support clean recordkeeping
Payroll Support (Gusto)
Process or support payroll through Gusto
Ensure payroll entries are correctly recorded in QuickBooks
Track payroll-related liabilities and provide basic payroll reporting as needed
Coordinate with firm leadership and/or CPA on payroll questions
Preferred: Clio Support and/or Leap
Familiarity with Clio and Leap for billing/payment tracking is a plus
Assist with ensuring deposits and payments are recorded properly and align with bookkeeping records
Qualifications & Requirements
Proven experience with QuickBooks Online
Payroll experience (Gusto preferred)
Strong Excel skills and excellent attention to detail
Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion
Reliable, responsive, and able to work independently
Law firm or professional services experience preferred
Hours & Engagement
As needed (estimated 2–5 hours per month; to be discussed)
