Business Analyst – Early Childhood Education, ECE

Job Description: • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned external government clients • Facilitate requirement-gathering sessions with client stakeholders • Translate contractual, regulatory, and operational needs into actionable system requirements • Communicate delivery status, scope changes, and tradeoffs clearly and professionally • Balance client expectations with technical feasibility and team capacity • Serve as the requirements owner for a dedicated Scrum team • Prioritize backlog items in alignment with stakeholder needs and funding commitments • Participate actively in sprint planning, refinement, reviews, and retrospectives • Ensure completed work meets business intent and acceptance criteria • Review, analyze, and evaluate business needs to define scope and objectives • Produce detailed workflows and specifications • Maintain organized documentation in Agile tooling environments (e.g., Jira, Confluence) • Support QA and user acceptance testing • Identify process improvements that enhance clarity and delivery predictability • Contribute to reporting and data-informed decision-making • Proactively identify risks, ambiguities, and dependency conflicts Requirements: • 4–7 years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or technical product management • Experience working on moderately complex software initiatives • Strong requirements documentation and backlog management skills • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments • Experience interacting directly with external clients or stakeholders • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level communication • Ability to manage competing priorities across internal teams and external clients • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience • Experience formally serving as a Product Owner or Scrum Master in an agile environment (Nice to Have) • Professional certification in Agile or Scrum (Nice to Have) • Experience in government (B2G) or public-sector technology projects (Nice to Have) • Exposure to LMS, EdTech, workforce registry, or compliance-driven systems (Nice to Have) • Familiarity with SaaS or cloud-based platforms (Nice to Have) • SQL or reporting familiarity (Nice to Have) • Experience collaborating with offshore engineering teams (Nice to Have) Benefits: • Generous time off policies, 13 public holidays. • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Coverage (*one option full funded by StraighterLine) • 401K Safe Harbor: StraighterLine contributes 3% of your total salary whether you contribute or not • Six weeks paid parental leave • Free StraighterLine courses for you and your family members
