POSITION SUMMARY
The CADC Position (Part Time/ Remote) will be responsible for delivering substance use disorder services in a remote outpatient setting, focusing on evening and weekend groups. The substance use disorder counselor functions as part of a treatment team including medical providers, mental health providers, other addictions counselors, peers/recovery mentors, and various other support staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following:
Work with patients individually and in a group setting
Attend and participate in relevant team and staff meetings as appropriate
Conduct multidimensional alcohol and drug assessments to identify patients’ needs, risks, strengths, and resources in accordance with ASAM guidelines
Create and maintain individualized treatment plans with progress notes and update the plan as necessary
with community partners and referring agencies in a timely manner.
Enhance patient/client motivation and coping with substance use issues through evidenced based interventions
Serve as primary counselor for individuals on a maintained caseload across various programs (MAT, DUII, IOP, OP etc.)
Be available and on time for all scheduled shifts, counseling appointments, and may need to offer support as needed for patients, family and staff as needed
Maintain relevant credentials and qualifications
Support patients and clients in various stages of change
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor Certification (CADC I, CADC II, CADC III) or CADC-R Or national equivalency (NCAC I, NCAC II, NCAC III etc.)
Available for evening and weekend shifts
Always maintain a professional demeanor
Ability to demonstrate knowledge and utilization of various counseling theories/modalities
Proficient in communication, verbal, written, and nonverbal
Respond with a high degree of accuracy
Ability to maintain knowledge base of relevant and local recovery resources and services
Ability to work both independently and as a functional member of a team
Ability to complete work thoroughly, with attention to detail, and to meet deadlines.
Ability to understand and operate within the relevant Oregon Administrative Rules (OARs)
Effective facilitation of captivating and therapeutic group therapy
