About the position
Responsibilities
• Develop and mature requirements and documenting required functionality for software development, specific to the provision of behavioral health services.
• Review and analyze software specifications to align with government mandates.
• Collaborate with QA Engineers to help develop effective test plans and data.
• Help develop and/or execute test cases (manual or automated) as needed.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure product relevance throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Inform team leads and other designated management officials of changing industry mandates and end user needs concerning behavioral health service provision.
• Document, track, and escalate issues as appropriate, using Azure DevOps to document identified software requirements.
• Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology and best behavioral health practices relevant to the industry.
• Support and help resolve Helpdesk tickets for the Behavioral Health application.
• Utilize a knowledge base to create conceptual business models and to point out relevant issues and considerations in selecting application software packages.
• Assess the operational and functional baseline of an organization and its organizational components.
• Work with senior managers to provide industry vision and guidance.
• Lead the determination and classification of information technology inadequacies and/or deficiencies.
• Support the development of functional area strategies for enhanced IT operations.
• Provide work direction and guidance to other personnel.
• Participate in special projects as required.
Requirements
• A Bachelor's Degree in computer science/systems, information systems/technology, engineering/engineering technology, software engineering/programming, management, natural sciences, social sciences, mathematics, or business/finance.
• Six years of experience in BPR methods, plus formal training and one year experience in enterprise applications.
• Experience with Health IT, EHR systems, Meaningful Use, HTI-1 and Behavioral Health.
• Demonstrated relevant work experience in developing requirements and documenting required functionality for software development.
• Demonstrated ability to understand and document the underlying behavioral health service workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team with adjusting priorities and deadlines.
• Proven ability to work on a remote/distributed team.
Nice-to-haves
• Master's Degree in Social Work.
• Experience with the Indian Health Service RPMS and/or Veterans Administration VistA EHR systems, specifically the behavioral health components.
• Knowledge of the VA and IHS environments, RPMS or legacy VISTA.
• Working knowledge of Team Foundation Server and/or Azure DevOps.
