Role Summary
Renew Home is seeking a highly skilled copywriter and content strategist (contractor) to support our Marketing team. This role will unify our messaging across channels, ensure consistency in brand voice and tone, and elevate how we communicate with utilities, partners, and households. The strategist will be central in executing high-quality technical and thought leadership content, driving SEO planning and execution, and supporting product marketing initiatives with clear, compelling narratives.
What You Will Do
- Develop, edit, and refine copy across campaigns, social, web, and external communications—ensuring consistency in tone, clarity, and compliance with legal/brand standards.
- Create and refine industry thought leadership content, including white papers, position papers, case studies, social posts, and executive blogs.
- Support product marketing initiatives by aligning messaging with brand narratives and strategic campaigns.
- Lead SEO planning and execution:
- Build keyword strategies and content roadmaps tied to business priorities.
- Optimize blog, web, and campaign content for SEO best practices.
- Partner with digital/paid media teams to ensure organic and paid strategies complement one another.
- Track performance (rankings, traffic, conversions) and adjust strategy accordingly.
- Act as a system-level thinker, ensuring content ladders up to Renew Home’s broader positioning and strategic goals.
- Collaborate with legal/compliance to streamline approvals and ensure accuracy.
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate content development, test/refine messaging frameworks, and scale content production.
- Help build and maintain a library of approved narratives, templates, and reusable content blocks.
Requirements
- 7–10+ years of experience in content strategy, copywriting, and SEO execution (agency or in-house).
- Exceptional writer/editor with the ability to distill complex topics into clear, engaging, and audience-appropriate language.
- Strong grasp of both B2B messaging (utilities, OEMs, policy) and broader brand marketing narratives.
- Demonstrated experience producing thought leadership and campaign content across multiple formats.
- Experience in SEO strategy and execution: keyword research, on-page optimization, linking strategies, and SEO-focused content planning.
- Systems thinker who ensures copy contributes to consistent, strategic storytelling.
- Skilled at managing cross-functional input from Marketing, Comms, and Legal.
- Bias toward clarity, brevity, and impact.
- Prior experience in energy, climate tech, SaaS, or similarly technical/regulated industries preferred.
Benefits
- This is a contract position with a six month duration. The hourly rate for this role is: $110 - $150.
