You are a highly skilled Data Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, agile environment. You’re experienced in building and maintaining scalable microservices and data pipelines. What you will do
As a Data Engineer:
- You’ll analyze, design, and implement data pipeline features and infrastructure improvements.
- You’ll write efficient, well-tested code and conduct unit and integration testing.
- You’ll build and optimize data ingestion and ETL/ELT processes.
- You’ll participate in end-to-end project delivery—from ideation to production.
- You’ll identify and resolve anomalies and bugs in existing systems.
- You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with security and product teams to embed security and compliance best practices into development processes.
- You’ll contribute to the team’s agility, quality, and automation efforts (CI/CD, testing, deployment).
- You’ll evaluate and advise on technical design and development decisions.
- You’ll surface and communicate risks related to technology, security, or operations.
What your resume shows
Must Haves
- 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or ETL development
- 3+ years of experience in Apache Spark or Databricks
- 2+ years of experience with AWS cloud services
- 2+ years of experience building, deploying, and optimizing data ingestion pipelines
- Experience working directly with internal and external stakeholders
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent practical experience
Nice to Haves
- Experience with real-time data streaming (e.g., Flink, Spark Structured Streaming, Kafka Streams)
- Familiarity with tools such as Apache Kafka, Delta Lake, Apache Hive, Apache Impala, Apache Beam
- Experience working in a startup environment
- Azure cloud experience
- Experience in cybersecurity or sensitive data protection
- Bilingual in English and French
- Strategic preference for candidates residing in Quebec or Ontario
