Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) is the nation’s largest nonprofit dedicated to children’s literacy. We are seeking a Development Coordinator to support our fundraising efforts and help drive meaningful donor engagement.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for donor inquiries via phone, email, and mail
- Provide timely, professional, and donor-focused responses
- Manage donor communications, including monthly donors and honor/tribute gifts
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on donor-related activities
- Maintain accurate documentation of donor interactions and resolutions
- Execute donor acknowledgments and stewardship activities
- Prepare personalized communications for VIP donors and special cases
- Manage donor mailings, premiums, and engagement touchpoints
- Ensure donor records are accurate and up to date
- Conduct prospect research to identify and support new donor opportunities
- Maintain data accuracy and integrity within development systems
- Support reporting and tracking to inform team decisions
- Identify and troubleshoot data inconsistencies
- Improve workflows and processes for efficiency
Skills
- Passion for nonprofit work, fundraising, or youth and education
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Self-starter who thrives both independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); willingness to learn new systems
