Contract Details • Work Mode: Remote • Location: Philadelphia, PA (US-based) • Duration: 12 months (target start 2026-04-20; target end 2027-04-17) • Schedule: Standard business hours; participates in an on-call rotation About the Opportunity Join an engineering team supporting modern infrastructure and application delivery across on prem and AWS environments. You ll build, automate, and operate scalable platforms, enabling CI/CD pipelines, containerized services, and high-performing web applications. This role blends systems engineering and DevOps, with a focus on AWS, automation, and reliability. Key Responsibilities • Design, build, and support AWS resources (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, API services) and related cloud infrastructure. • Automate build/deploy pipelines; script Jenkins jobs for code deployments and remote service management. • Configure and optimize web servers (Apache, Nginx) and support performance tuning and capacity planning. • Create and maintain Docker containers; support container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes/ECS). • Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible/Puppet) and configuration management. • Develop and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting (e.g., CloudWatch, Splunk, New Relic, SCOM). • Support database administration tasks for MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB. • Analyze trends, conduct statistical/system performance analysis, and produce clear technical documentation. • Participate in an enterprise on-call rotation and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Required Qualifications • 3 years in Systems Engineering/DevOps with hands-on AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, APIs). • Proficiency scripting Jenkins pipelines/jobs for CI/CD. • Strong Linux administration; Windows administration experience is a plus. • Web server administration: Apache and Nginx. • Containerization with Docker; familiarity with Kubernetes or AWS ECS. • Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or CloudFormation (Ansible/Puppet a plus). • Scripting with Bash and/or Python. • Monitoring/observability tools experience (e.g., CloudWatch, Splunk, New Relic, SCOM). • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (load balancers, firewall rules, certificates). • Experience with Agile tools (Jira, ServiceNow, or Redmine) and Git-based version control (Git, Bitbucket, Stash). Preferred Qualifications • AWS Certification. • Experience with CircleCI, Kubernetes, or AWS ECS. • Basic database administration support for MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
