The Wyanoke Group is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Editorial Assistant for Healio News to support their mission of providing high-quality news content for physicians. The role involves assisting editors with content creation, transcribing interviews, and managing various clerical tasks.
Responsibilities
- Assisting editors with the creation of online and print news content
- Transcribing interviews
- Brief writing assignments that cover multiple medical specialties
- Contacting sources for corrections, commentary or artwork
- Conducting brief interviews
- Posting articles to Healio website
- Producing email newsletters
- Providing general clerical and research support as needed
Skills
- A bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications or a related field
- General knowledge of grammar, usage and style
- Willingness to learn
- Ability to handle multiple projects with competing priorities for potentially more than one supervisor
- Professional demeanor
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Journalism experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and social media
