This is a remote position. Job Title: Executive Director – Secretariat for Electoral Coordination (SEC) Location: Canada (Remote) Job Type: Part-Time Contract Duration: May 2026 – September 2027 (16 months, with possible extensions) About the Role The Secretariat for Electoral Coordination (SEC) is seeking a highly experienced and fully bilingual Executive Director to lead strategic coordination and execution of a multi-jurisdictional electoral collaboration initiative across Canada. This role involves working closely with senior electoral leaders, steering committees, and stakeholders to ensure alignment, execution, and successful delivery of key initiatives. Key Responsibilities - Lead and coordinate SEC strategic initiatives and annual work plans - Manage meetings, agendas, documentation, and reporting for committees - Support planning of the Canadian Conference of Election Officials (CCEO) - Develop project plans, budgets, and progress reports - Liaise with stakeholders, committees, and external partners - Ensure milestones and objectives are achieved - Support recruitment of subcommittee members - Maintain documentation on SharePoint and related platforms - Ensure bilingual (English/French) communication across all materials Required Qualifications - University degree (Business, IT, Engineering, or related field preferred) - MBA, MPA, or Master’s degree is an asset - Certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum, SAFe, etc.) are assets - Fluent in English and French (mandatory) - Minimum 5+ years at Executive Director level or equivalent leadership experience - Proven experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects - Experience working with senior executives or board-level stakeholders - Ability to lead remote teams effectively - Election administration experience is an asset Core Competencies - Strategic leadership & planning - Stakeholder engagement - Project governance - Budgeting & forecasting - Risk & change management - Strong communication & diplomacy - High emotional intelligence & decision-making Technical Skills - Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) - Project tools (MS Project, Jira, Asana, Smartsheet, Primavera) - Virtual collaboration and reporting tools - Strong understanding of confidentiality and secure data handling Work Environment - Fully remote (Canada-based candidates only) - Flexible schedule (~15 days/month) - Limited travel (reimbursed) Pre-Engagement Requirements - Criminal background check (no convictions) - Non-partisan activity declaration (last 2 years) How to Apply ?
