About the Role
This exciting opportunity is part of our Payments and Digital Strategy team at arenaflex Credit Union. As a Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for handling everyday functions related to check processing, item processing, direct bills, and fund transfers. Your expertise will play a vital role in ensuring seamless transactions and providing top-notch support to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete data access and balancing functions
- Coordinate return items with contributors, doors vendors, the Federal Reserve Bank, and other institutions
- Assist different departments with fraud resolution, member inquiries, and associated Accounting standard ledger balancing
- Work member cases/sports assigned
- Follow and maintain guidelines and procedures to ensure strict compliance with NACHA regulations and guidelines and Federal Banking laws
- Process loan payments, multi-account and member deposits, credit card payments, and other checks, including IRA, bankruptcy, and payoff checks
- Review, examine, and approve Remote Deposit, Mobile, ATM, and other imaged-enabled products
- Log, report, and make necessary GL, account changes and/or returns
- Process Stop Pays and Check Batching
- Complete daily balancing and department closing
- Obtain information from contributors for the timely and accurate processing of international and domestic fund transfer requests
- Research and confirm incoming and outgoing fund transfer information
- Communicate with the vendor to process fund transfers
- Understand and be familiar with outgoing and incoming fund transfer laws
- Deposit check returns, research member back checks on draft changes, process member checks, confirm members for outgoing fund transfers, and Federal Reserve verifying and releasing fund transfers
- Complete daily processing of workflows associated with late returns, supply of receipts, foreign collections, and legal fees
What You'll Need to Succeed
To excel in this role, you'll need to possess a combination of skills, experience, and personal qualities that align with our organization's values and mission.
Essential Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Intermediate Excel and Word experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous customer/member service experience
- Previous banking or Credit Union experience
- Episys/Symitar and processing wires
Skills, Licenses, and Certifications:
- Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) gained through either work experience with the software or training and hands-on use of the software
- Ability to work extended hours in support of business needs
- Ability to exercise excellent customer service skills
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple responsibilities, and function as an integral part of a team
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations and analyze data
- Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet deadlines under high-volume pressure
- Ability to cross-train and perform any role assigned within the department
- Ability to interact professionally with all personnel and contributors
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
- Ability to self-motivate with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet deadlines
- Ability to maintain excellent performance and attendance
- Must pass relevant arenaflex and Credit Union pre-hire compliance tests
