Job Overview
As a Data Engineer - Data Analytics at arenaflex, you will be responsible for designing and operationalizing data pipelines to make data available for consumption, including data ingestion, transformation, validation, and quality control. You will work closely with Data Architects, Data Scientists, and BI Architects to develop and maintain scalable data models and pipelines, ensuring the integrity and reliability of our data management systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deploy automated data pipelines from various internal and external data sources, utilizing your expertise in data engineering, cloud technologies, and data warehousing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, engineering, and data platform groups, to design, test, and automate data pipelines that serve as the single source of truth across the organization.
- Develop and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture, identifying areas for improvement and implementing process enhancements to increase efficiency and data quality.
- Work with large, complex datasets to meet business requirements, applying your knowledge of data modeling, ETL, and data warehousing to drive high-value insights for the organization.
- Support the development of Data Dictionaries and Data Taxonomy for product offerings, ensuring data consistency and standardization across the enterprise.
- Utilize coding and programming concepts to build data pipelines, including data transformation, data quality, and data integration, leveraging tools like Informatica PowerCenter and IICS.
- Partner with Data Modelers to design and develop data pipelines, storing data in defined data models and structures, and ensuring data integrity and compliance with industry standards.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering, data analytics, and cloud computing, applying your knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in our data management practices.
Essential Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience designing and operationalizing data pipelines with large and complex datasets, utilizing technologies like Informatica PowerCenter, IICS, and cloud-based data platforms.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with data modeling, ETL, and data warehousing, including expertise in data pipeline development, data quality, and data integration.
- Strong understanding of database storage concepts, including data lakes, relational databases, NoSQL, Graph, and data warehousing, with the ability to apply this knowledge to drive data management best practices.
- Advanced SQL skills, with the ability to write complex SQL queries against various data sources, including SQL, Oracle database, flat files (csv, delimited), Web API, and XML.
- Experience working with cloud technologies, such as ADLS, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Databricks Live Table, Spark, Azure Synapse, and other big data technologies, with a strong understanding of their applications and limitations.
- Ability to work in a high-speed agile development environment, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines, including willingness to work on weekends, holidays, and participate in on-call rotations.
Preferred Qualifications
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent programming/services experience, with a strong foundation in software development, data structures, and algorithms.
- Azure Certifications, demonstrating expertise in cloud computing, data engineering, and data analytics, with a strong understanding of Azure services and their applications.
- Experience implementing data integration strategies, such as event/message-based integration (Kafka, Azure Event Hub), ETL, and data warehousing, with a strong understanding of their trade-offs and best practices.
- Experience with Git/Azure DevOps, demonstrating familiarity with version control, continuous integration, and continuous deployment, with a strong understanding of their applications in data engineering and software development.
- Experience delivering data solutions through agile software development methodologies, with a strong understanding of their principles, practices, and tools, such as Scrum, Kanban, and Lean software development.
- Familiarity with the retail industry, with a strong understanding of its unique challenges, opportunities, and requirements, including experience working with retail data, retail systems, and retail business processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences, both in written and verbal form, including experience with technical writing, documentation, and presentation.
- Experience working with SAP integration tools, including Bodies, with a strong understanding of their applications and limitations, including experience with SAP systems, SAP data, and SAP business processes.
- Experience with UC4 Job Scheduler, demonstrating familiarity with job scheduling, workflow automation, and workload management, with a strong understanding of their applications and limitations.
