Key Responsibilities

• Guarantee the accuracy, timeliness, and intelligence of sports data disseminated by the Data and Insights team at blithequark.
• Work independently and in teams to deliver accurate detailed analysis, clock-and-score, and other metrics and data in real-time that power numerous blithequark products and productions.
• Develop and maintain an active knowledge of the Data and Insights team's role in fueling blithequark's digital products and television productions.
• Verify the results of your own work and that of others; perform with a consistently high level of attention to detail.
• Contribute to production, operations, and initiatives across the newsroom, and support newsroom leaders who are managing full-time and part-time staff.
• Anticipate potential issues, both daily and long-term, and offer possible solutions. Communicate promptly and clearly with stakeholders on these issues.
• Play a proactive role in collaborating with stakeholders to develop or refine production processes.
• Be an active participant in team and department meetings.
• Seek and respond to feedback regarding individual performance.
• Stay informed about current office policies and procedures.

Essential Qualifications

• Working knowledge of teams, players, and the rules of various sports.
• Full schedule availability, which will include evenings (exclusively), weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to quickly learn production processes that produce or maintain sports data that drives blithequark's digital and television products.
• Capacity to achieve a high level of content accuracy in time-sensitive production environments.
• Ability to communicate confidently – verbally and in writing – to production managers and colleagues about production issues and opportunities, often through the noise of a busy newsroom.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience working in sports or statistics, ideally in media.
• Knowledge of how sports data is used in media and for research purposes.
• Working knowledge of blithequark products and productions.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Office products.
• Experience leading or mentoring a team.
• Ability to speak and write Spanish.
• Experience using social media in a business or news environment.
