About the Role
As an Engineering Support Specialist, you'll play a critical role in providing Engineering support on various aircraft systems and improving associated reliability through project management. You'll work on a range of projects, from investigating aircraft/component problems to developing action plans for fleet/multi-fleet and/or component engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Stay Informed about Day-to-Day Airline Operations: Keep up-to-date on airline operations within your field of responsibility, ensuring you're always aware of the latest developments and challenges.
- Assess Daily Priorities: Evaluate daily priorities in accordance with airline/departmental objectives and management directives, ensuring you're focused on the most critical tasks.
- Investigate Aircraft/Component Problems: Investigate aircraft/component problems that may cause aircraft delays or cancellations, substantial expenditures in manpower or materials, or interruptions in maintenance operations, and determine appropriate corrective actions.
- Provide Engineering Support: Provide Engineering support as required for disposition of discrepant conditions affecting aircraft or components in order to restore serviceable status.
- Respond to Requests: Respond to requests from Maintenance and other airline departments when technical assistance is required to support projects or resolve problems.
- Develop Action Plans: Develop action plans for fleet/multi-fleet and/or component engineering projects and pursue final dispositions according to assessed priorities.
- Coordinate with Other Departments: Coordinate with other airline departments, as required, to provide for effective and efficient implementation of engineering dispositions.
- Prepare Engineering Documents: Prepare Engineering documents to implement technical dispositions by providing customized procedures for repairs, modifications, inspections or other maintenance actions which provide benefits in accordance with airline/departmental objectives and management directives.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
- Engineering Background: A degree in Engineering or a related field is required.
- Relevant Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in an engineering or related field is required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, and engineering principles is essential.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Airline Experience: Experience working in an airline or aviation-related environment is preferred.
