Key Responsibilities
As an Entry-Level Data Entry Specialist at blithequark, your key responsibilities will include:
- Performing data entry tasks using our electronic and manual systems, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
- Verifying documentation and freight descriptions to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Securing freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies
- Recouping and repairing damaged freight when necessary
- Completing required documentation and reports in a timely and accurate manner
- Assisting customers with freight and freight documentation as needed
- Performing hostling duties if required
- Complying with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures
- Performing other duties as required
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Prior experience in warehousing, freight handling, and/or fork lift operations preferred
- Experience in hostler/yard mule duties preferred
- Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator
- Basic written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift/carry hand freight of varying weights several times a week, to lift dock plates weighing approximately 100 pounds, and to open trailer doors requiring approximately 75 pounds of lift force, up to several times per day or more
- Ability to bend, twist, squat, pushing/pulling freight throughout shift
- Ability to work independently and/or as a team member
- Previous dock/warehouse experience preferred
Working Conditions
As an Entry-Level Data Entry Specialist at blithequark, you will work in a dock environment, exposed to varied weather conditions, exhaust, fumes, dust, and noise. Your hours may vary due to operational need, and you will have frequent contact with service center personnel in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
