The Position - Expedited Operations Representative (Night Shift - Remote)
We are seeking an experienced Expedited Operations Representative to join our team in Houston, TX. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for planning carrier capacity, order management, negotiations with vendors, customer relationship management, price negotiation, and other dispatcher functions utilizing a modern Transportation Management System (TMS). Essential Duties and Responsibilities
As an Expedited Operations Representative, you will be responsible for the following key duties and responsibilities:
- Work remotely (night shift) and manage a high volume of dispatch activities, including load and route planning, inbound order processing, and carrier capacity management.
- Coordinate and assign drivers to specific routes and loads based on availability, proximity, and customer requirements.
- Maintain effective communication with drivers to provide instructions, updates, and any necessary information related to their routes.
- Monitor driver progress and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
- Address any potential issues or delays in a proactive and efficient manner.
- Collaborate with the operations team to optimize routes and improve overall efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of all dispatch activities, including driver assignments, route details, and any relevant information.
- Handle customer inquiries and provide exceptional customer service.
- Adhere to all transportation regulations and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with maintenance staff to address any truck issues or repairs that may impact delivery schedules.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to trucking and logistics.

- Proven experience as an open deck/heavy haul dispatcher, with a strong understanding of transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proficient in using dispatching software and transportation management systems, with a strong understanding of geographical areas and routes.
- Familiarity with Tableau is a plus, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
