Our Security and Legal Information Engineering team builds adaptable data management and extraction frameworks that enable us to maintain the highest standards of data protection and cleanliness in the industry. We're seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team and help us build robust, flexible, and privacy-driven data structures. As part of this team, you'll work with various data technologies like Flash, Voila, Flink, Kafka, and others to create fast, versatile, and powerful data pipelines; write ETL tasks to collect and aggregate data; and design high-quality data structures that enable proper handling of customer personal data.
**About the Role**
We're looking for a talented Data Engineer who is passionate about consumer-driven data protection and risk mitigation for the business. The ideal candidate will have expertise in at least one of Java, Python, or Scala, with a minimum of 2 years of programming/data engineering experience. You'll be comfortable with advanced SQL and experienced in designing data pipelines using big data technologies (Hive, Voila, Flash, Flink) on medium to large-scale datasets.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Engineer effective, flexible, and adaptable data pipelines to handle structured and unstructured data
* Develop a deep understanding of the data ecosystem at arenaflex from a privacy-focused perspective
* Collaborate with the privacy engineering teams to understand product objectives and provide data that enables us to respond to customer and regulatory data requests
* Maintain and re-evaluate existing datasets and pipelines
* Join a talented team of data engineers who enhance our data protection act and mitigate legal and regulatory risk
**Essential Qualifications**
* Energetic about consumer-driven data protection and risk mitigation for the business
* Profoundly skilled in at least one of Java, Python, or Scala with a minimum of 2 years of programming/data engineering experience
* Familiar with advanced SQL
* Experienced in designing data pipelines using big data technologies (Hive, Voila, Flash, Flink) on medium to large-scale datasets
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to take requirements and implement flexible data models and pipelines
