**Job Summary**
As a Data Engineer at arenaflex, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a platform that provides secure access to large datasets. You'll work closely with our team to develop and deploy data engineering solutions that drive key business decisions. **Key Responsibilities**
* Design, implement, and guide a platform providing secure access to big datasets
* Own the design, development, and protection of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions
* Recognize and implement best practices in reporting and evaluation: data integrity, test design, evaluation, validation, and documentation
* Tune software and query performance using profiling tools and SQL
* Analyze and resolve issues at their root, stepping back to identify the wider context
* Learn and recognize a wide variety of arenaflex's data assets and understand when, how, and which to apply and which not to apply
* Keep updated with advances in big data technology and run pilots to lay out the data structure to scale with the increased data extent using AWS
* Continually enhance ongoing reporting and evaluation processes, automating or simplifying self-service guide for datasets
* Triage many viable courses of action in a high-ambiguity environment, using both quantitative evaluation and business judgment
**Essential Qualifications**
* 3+ years of data engineering experience
* Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
* Experience with SQL
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
* Excellent communication and business skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Experience with AWS technology like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, Firehose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
* Experience with non-relational databases/data stores (item storage, report or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)
* Experience with cloud-based data platforms and tools
