About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Data Engineer to join our remote team at United Airlines. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our data-driven applications and systems. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement data pipelines and architectures that feed our business-critical systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute data requirements, data transformation, and data processing.
- Develop and maintain streaming and real-time data pipelines using modern technologies such as Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, and Hadoop.
- Write unit tests and perform code reviews to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Develop and maintain clear documentation and troubleshoot issues.
- Drive the adoption of data engineering practices and tools within the Hadoop ecosystem.
- Train and mentor junior engineers to develop their skills and expertise.

Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related STEM field.
- At least 3 years of experience in software development, with a focus on data engineering.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, and Scala.
- Experience with big data technologies such as PySpark, Hadoop, Hive, HBASE, Kafka, and Nifi.
- Experience with relational databases such as MS SQL Server, Oracle, and Teradata.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex data-related issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience with cloud-based platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Certified Data Engineer or Certified Cloud Practitioner certification.
- Experience with agile methodologies and version control systems such as Git.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
