About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Data Scientist to join our Clinical Research and Evidence Generation team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality, certifiable evidence through cutting-edge research and innovative methodologies in the clinical trials space. Your expertise in data science and technology will enable you to drive business growth and inform strategic decisions through data-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Mine crude information datasets to convey normalized, analysis-ready patient companions from in-house information resources or authorized stages, analyze and interpret results, and help shape investigation methodology.
- Collaborate with other members of the Walgreens Clinical Trials team to convey meaningful insights from real-world, clinical, and other information sources to support biopharmaceutical RWE and clinical trial requests. Potential endeavors include examination of neglected needs, safe and effective treatment in specific disease states, treatment patterns, and healthcare financial burden, and cost-effectiveness modeling.
- Clean, transform, and store information into an integrated data lake for future analysis and broader team utilization.
- Perform information mining and statistical analysis to analyze RWE/RWD to discover new insights regarding patient populations and treatment results.
- Support the development of real-world evidence, investigation, and stage capabilities, applying advanced analysis and tools to resolve logical inquiries from biopharmaceutical organizations.
- Work together on plan and execution of results research studies.
- Ensure high-quality, thorough, and interpretable expectations from RWE review and investigations.
- Construct dashboards, analysis, and reports for internal and external use.
- Conduct a reasonable level of effort on new certifiable information suppliers sellers and drive RWD quality evaluations to inform project decisions.
Essential Capabilities
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following essential capabilities:
- Experience in planning and executing robust and reproducible statistical analyses regarding the study of disease transmission and observational research with healthcare information.
- Knowledge of standard statistical testing methods including generalized linear models, clustering and segmentation, decision trees, unsupervised learning, time series analysis, and survival analysis.
- Experience handling large datasets from various information sources.
- Experience managing protected patient health information.
- Knowledge of at least one of the following: Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Spotfire, or other BI insight tools.
Favored Capabilities
While not essential, the following favored capabilities will be highly valued:
- PhD, Graduate degree in statistics/biostatistics, software engineering, mathematics, systems engineering, biomedical engineering, or related field.
- Skill in EMR/Health IT, disease registries, and insurance claims datasets.
- Ability in clinical data standards, clinical terminologies, and controlled vocabularies used in healthcare information and ontologies (ICD9/10/ReadCode).
- Experience in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) as well as regulatory compliance rules for real-world evidence studies or clinical trials (e.g., ISO, MDD/MDR, CFR).
- Experience working on alternative information sources and alternative methods for clinical data collection, particularly those enabled by technology platforms and solutions.
- Experience with exploratory design, Bayesian modeling, sequential data, computational statistics.
- Understanding of statistics and AI techniques, ability to continue self-learning of technical and non-technical skills.
