**Job Responsibilities**
As a Sr. Data Engineer at arenaflex, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing capabilities in collaboration with product owners, information analysts, and other stakeholders using Agile/Scrum methodology. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Contributing to the development of standard architecture, frameworks, and styles for processing and storing large data volumes
* Designing and implementing distributed data processing pipelines using tools and languages common in the Hadoop or Cloud ecosystems
* Building utilities, user-defined functions, and frameworks to enhance data flow patterns
* Constructing and improving process orchestration and scheduling
* Researching, evaluating, and utilizing new technologies/equipment/frameworks focused on high-volume data processing
* Outlining and implementing suitable data acquisition and ingestion techniques for given technical scenarios
* Building and including automated unit tests and participating in integration testing efforts
* Collaborating with architecture/engineering leads and other teams to ensure high-quality solutions are implemented, and engineering best practices are defined and adhered to
* Working across teams to resolve operational and performance issues
**Requirements**
To be successful in this role, you'll need to possess the following qualifications and skills:
* Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Electronics and Communications, or Technology
* Two (2) years of experience in the field of data engineering or a related occupation
* Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, and Scala
* Experience with big data frameworks like Hadoop, Hive, Spark, and Databricks
* Familiarity with ETL tools like Informatica and PLSQL
* Knowledge of scripting languages like Unix and PowerShell
* Experience with databases such as Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, Teradata, and Snowflake
* Familiarity with AWS tools like EMR, S3, and Kinesis
* Experience with analytics tools like Tableau and Cognos
* Knowledge of streaming frameworks like Kafka and Spark Streaming
* Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow and Autosys
