Key Responsibilities
- Process new patient enrollments by entering data into the appropriate system, utilizing arenaflex's prescription information section methods and rules.
- Handle patient medication requests within HIPAA guidelines and enter refill orders for processing.
- Investigate to obtain missing prescription data and interpret medical abbreviations (SIG codes).
- Resolve all data entry-related exceptions.
- Manage communication with patients (inbound calls, chats, messages) and make outbound calls to prescribers and patients on a case-by-case basis.
- Resolve Third-Party Rejections by inspecting, gathering information, making corrections, and resubmitting for processing according to individual plan requirements.
- Make phone calls to payers and others to obtain information, gain override approval, or otherwise resolve Third-Party Rejections.
- Provide support to Pharmacists, both those in the office and those at different locations, and recognize and communicate issues to senior-level staff as appropriate.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Basic level computer skills (e.g., start and shut down a computer, use a mouse to point and click, start and close programs, switch between applications, save files, print reports, and access information online).
- Basic web browser skills, including opening a browser, typing in URLs, using a search engine, bookmarking a website, navigating using back/forward/stop buttons, and filling out forms online.
- Intermediate-level keyboarding skills (at least 25 WPM, typing by memory, formatting documents).
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:
- At least 2 years of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or call center environment.
- At least 1.5 years as a pharmacy technician with a certification/registration by state as granted by the State Board of Pharmacy or a nationally recognized certification agency.
- Experience providing customer service to internal and external clients, including meeting quality standards for services and assessment of customer satisfaction.
- Moderate to advanced-level keyboarding skills (at least 35 WPM, typing by memory, formatting documents).
- Fluency in Spanish and English.
