What to Expect: Key Responsibilities
As a Chat/Text Crisis Specialist at blithequark, you will play a critical role in providing immediate support and intervention to individuals in crisis. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments for individuals in crisis, with a focus on identifying immediate needs and developing effective intervention strategies.
- Assessing crisis contacts via chat/text to evaluate suicide risk and identify community resources, ensuring that individuals receive the support and services they need.
- Conducting follow-up calls for individuals assessed as moderate to high risk for suicide, providing ongoing support and connecting them with local resources and services.
- Managing multiple crisis contacts simultaneously, prioritizing needs, and maintaining accurate records of interactions.
- Collaborating with internal teams, including mental health professionals and support staff, to ensure comprehensive care and coordination.
- Participating actively in ongoing supervision, training, and team meetings to stay up-to-date on best practices and emerging trends in crisis intervention.
- Maintaining compliance with ethical and clinical standards as per accreditation requirements, ensuring that all interactions meet the highest standards of care.
What We Require: Essential Qualifications
To be successful as a Chat/Text Crisis Specialist at blithequark, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field, or a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist.
- At least six months to one year of related crisis experience, preferably in a behavioral health or mental health setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate through multiple channels, including chat, text, and phone.
- Demonstrated high-level customer service skills and professional etiquette, with a focus on empathy, compassion, and understanding.
- Knowledge of suicide assessments and crisis intervention techniques, including risk assessment and safety planning.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and maintaining focus under pressure.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
How to Stand Out: Preferred Qualifications
