About the Position
We are seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to join our team in Syosset, New York, for a 13-week assignment starting on August 26, 2024. As an MRI Technologist with Cross Country Allied, you will play a vital role in the healthcare system by taking medical images of patients for diagnostic purposes using advanced magnetic resonance imaging technology. This evening shift position offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for MRI scans and explain the procedure to them: You will be responsible for ensuring patients are comfortable and prepared for the MRI scan, explaining the procedure in a clear and concise manner, and addressing any concerns they may have.
- Operate MRI machines to capture high-quality images of patients' internal structures: As an MRI Technologist, you will be skilled in operating MRI machines to capture accurate and detailed images of patients' internal structures, which will be used by radiologists and physicians for diagnosis and treatment.
- Process MRI images for review by radiologists and physicians: You will be responsible for processing and analyzing MRI images to ensure they are of high quality and meet the required standards for review by radiologists and physicians.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality: You will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality and adhering to strict data protection protocols.
- Utilize other radiologic equipment such as CT and X-ray machines as needed: As an MRI Technologist, you will be skilled in using other radiologic equipment, such as CT and X-ray machines, to provide comprehensive care for patients in various healthcare settings.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure patient and staff safety: You will be responsible for adhering to strict safety protocols and guidelines to ensure patient and staff safety, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to infection control procedures.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care: You will work closely with healthcare professionals, including radiologists, physicians, and nurses, to provide comprehensive patient care and ensure seamless communication and coordination.
Requirements
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will need to meet the following requirements:
- At least 1 year of recent experience as an MRI technologist: We are looking for an experienced MRI Technologist who has a strong background in operating MRI machines, processing images, and maintaining patient records.
- ARRT Certification is required: You will need to hold a valid ARRT certification as an MRI Technologist, demonstrating your expertise and commitment to the field.
- BLS Certification (AHA) is required: You will need to hold a valid BLS certification from the American Heart Association, demonstrating your ability to provide emergency care and respond to cardiac emergencies.
- Current state license (if applicable): You will need to hold a valid state license to practice as an MRI Technologist, if required by your state.

While not essential, the following skills and qualifications would be highly desirable for this role:
