Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the financial records of two businesses: a professional services entity and a commercial building management company
- Assist in getting the accounting up to date for 2024, including processing transactions and reconciliations
- Invoice tenants for CAM charges on a timely basis
- Account for construction costs in 2024 and 2025 related to the commercial building renovation
- Perform monthly bookkeeping tasks, including data entry, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate and detailed financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounts
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decision-making
Essential Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping and accounting, preferably in a remote or virtual setting
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks or Xero
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with our team
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with commercial property management or construction accounting
- Knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory requirements related to commercial property management
- Certifications, such as QuickBooks Certified User or Certified Bookkeeper, are a plus
