Job Summary
The Data Entry Operator will work remotely, entering information with a high degree of speed and accuracy into our customer information system and other software applications. This position requires excellent judgment, independent thinking, and personal initiative. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining utility accounts, verifying account eligibility, preparing work orders, and performing monthly audits, among other essential functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain utility accounts with accuracy and attention to detail
- Verify account eligibility and accessibility to ensure compliance with regulations
- Prepare, distribute, and complete work orders in a timely and efficient manner
- Prepare files for mass customer communications, ensuring data quality and integrity
- Assist with mailing billing statements and other notices generated in-house
- Scan or retain documents, maintaining organized digital and physical files
- Perform monthly audits of incomplete account transfer requests to identify areas for improvement
- Enter data into Key Performance Indicator tracking databases to support business decision-making
- Perform other related duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A High School Diploma or an acceptable equivalency diploma (GED)
- Two (2) years of experience as a high-volume data entry operator or typist
- No specific licenses or certifications are required, but you must pass computer skills, typing and accuracy, and 10-key skills testing for consideration
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- An Associate's degree in Business Administration, Data Entry, or a related field
- Two (2) years of experience as a high-volume data entry operator or typist
- Demonstrated expertise in computer skills, typing and accuracy, and 10-key skills testing
