Job Summary and Key Responsibilities
The Remote Director will be responsible for leading the technical team during live remote game broadcasts, ensuring seamless execution and high-quality production. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in live sports broadcasting, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance to schools on TV production roles and best practices
- Liaise with school production partners to provide timely feedback on student-produced content
- Visit school production partner grounds to assess equipment, discuss industry-standard production procedures, and provide guidance to administrative staff
- Design, coordinate, and execute live remote game broadcasts, documenting assigned events
- Make on-the-spot decisions on camera shots, sound, and transmission coverage plans
- Work with producers and technical teams to determine camera placement, capture desired shots, and execute live-to-tape builds
- Coordinate with technical teams and consultants to ensure seamless integration of all broadcast elements
- Conduct research on teams, players, storylines, and trends to stay informed on assigned games
- Provide guidance to live talent before and during broadcasts
- Make on-the-spot adjustments to coverage plans as needed
- Troubleshoot technical issues during live remote games
- Ensure accurate insertion of plugs and promotions during broadcasts
- Participate in the development of concepts and content to engage viewers and increase market penetration
- Communicate with external partners, such as talent and production companies, to secure necessary services and resources
Essential and Preferred Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Valid driver's license
- Knowledge of live game coordination processes
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to team members during live broadcasts
- Familiarity with technical equipment used in live remote game coordination
