Key Responsibilities: Driving Tax Excellence
- Prepare income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Prepare and review multi-state income tax returns, sales tax, use tax, and property tax returns, and assist with tax provision and year-end accruals.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in tax laws and regulations, communicating effectively with clients and team members to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of tax services with other financial functions.
- Assist with general accruals and other accounting-related tasks, leveraging your analytical and problem-solving skills to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
Essential and Preferred Qualifications: The Ideal Candidate
To succeed in this role, you'll need a strong foundation in tax principles, laws, and regulations, as well as excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in Tax Senior or Senior Tax Associate positions, with a focus on multi-state income tax returns, sales tax, use tax, property tax returns, tax provision, and governmental regulations.
- Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations, including experience with tax provision and year-end accruals.
- Big 4 public accounting experience preferred, although not required.
- CPA certification preferred, demonstrating your expertise and commitment to the profession.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and remotely.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with a strong work ethic and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
