The Role: Senior Software Engineer for Unity Game Development
As a Senior Software Engineer at Agile Fox, you'll play a crucial role in the continued development and success of Cozy Woods, our hit life sim game built on the Unity engine. Your expertise in C# programming, Unity development, and live game support will be essential in driving the game's performance, reliability, and overall player experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and efficient code for Cozy Woods, ensuring seamless gameplay and optimal performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including game designers, artists, and other engineers to identify and prioritize project requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
- Work closely with the live support team to identify and resolve issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and Unity engine developments, applying this knowledge to improve our game development processes.
Essential Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional game development experience, with a focus on Unity engine development.
- Proven track record of shipping at least one commercial game using the Unity engine.
- Advanced C# programming skills, with the ability to write efficient, readable, and maintainable code.
- Experience with live game support, including troubleshooting, debugging, and optimization.
- iOS and Android mobile development experience, with knowledge of platform-specific considerations.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Proactive leadership skills, with the ability to influence and drive technical decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Backend development experience (e.g., multiplayer/server-side development).
- Interests and skills beyond game development, such as DevOps, scripting, or other relevant areas.
- A history of shipping multiple games throughout your career, with a track record of continuous learning and improvement.
