Job Duties and Responsibilities
As a Silicon Engineer at Microsoft, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Designing, developing, modifying, or evaluating electronic parts, components, integrated circuitry, or systems related to Microsoft technologies
- Defining design architecture and operating parameters for circuitry and microelectronic components
- Researching, designing, developing, or testing computer or computer-related equipment and selecting components or equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability
- Analyzing designs and components to establish operating parameters and performance requirements to define complete pre-silicon verification test cases
- Developing test plans for the preparation and execution of design verification testing
- Analyzing data generated from test results to perform pre-silicon verification of operating parameters and performance requirements
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support product development
- Generating documentation related to designs, including development status, technical specifications, functionality, compatibility with other devices, and testing procedures
- Automating or developing systematic and efficient methods to detect hardware or software vulnerabilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects, from the design and development of new electronic components and systems to the testing and verification of existing products. Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following minimum requirements:
- Education: Master's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, Physics, or related field
- Experience: Two (2) years of experience in designing, implementing, and testing computer hardware
- Specific Skills: Must include 12 months of experience in:
- ASIC Verification
- Verilog
- Scripting
- System Verilog
- C and/or C++
- Education or Experience: Computer Architecture and Unit Testing

The offered base pay range for this specific position is $176,010 to $206,010, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to your base pay, you will be eligible for a range of perks and benefits, including:
