Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in the absence of their regular teacher
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum and standards
- Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and students to ensure a smooth educational experience
- Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your Scoot consultant to discuss school feedback and develop your teaching skills
- Take advantage of free online training opportunities to enhance your teaching practices and stay up-to-date on best practices in education
Essential Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits
- Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor
- NJ Substitute Credential
- Background check and TB risk assessment (Scoot Education will cover the cost of this)
- Full COVID-19 vaccination
- A passion for education and putting students first
- An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Substitute Teacher or in a related educational role
- Special education experience or training
- Subject-specific expertise in areas like Math, Science, English, or Special Education
