We are growing quickly and building out a new intern program that is seeking a highly motivated individual who is eager to gain real-world experience in managed care consulting and healthcare operations.
Position Overview
The Intern, Healthcare Consultant will support our Managed Care department in the administrative, operational, and analytical functions required to manage client contracting projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented student interested in healthcare management, health policy, business, consulting, or data analytics.
You will work closely with Analysts, Senior Analysts, and Principals on high-impact client accounts and gain invaluable exposure to healthcare contracting, payer negotiations, reimbursement models, and the inner workings of large healthcare organizations.
What You’ll Do
Administrative & Contracting Support
• Collect, organize, and track provider contracts, fee schedules, W-9s, rosters, addenda, and related documentation
• Perform data validation and ensure accuracy across large datasets
• Support provider enrollment, credentialing, and payer correspondence
• Maintain organized repositories for payer agreements and contracting workflows
• Assist in preparing client-ready documents, summaries, and reports
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work directly with Analysts and Senior Analysts on contracting projects
• Support Principals on strategic initiatives and communication with client leadership
• Participate in project meetings and assist with follow-up tasks
Professional Development & Exposure
• Observe client interactions with C-suite executives at large healthcare organizations
• Gain hands-on experience with payer contracting, reimbursement strategy, and consulting methodologies
• Develop skills in healthcare business operations, analysis, and project management
Required Qualifications
• Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in:
• Business, Economics, Finance or Accounting
• Data Science
• Mathematics
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Excellent communication and follow-through
• Interest in healthcare consulting, managed care, or payer strategy
• Proficiency in Excel and basic data management preferred
