Penn State Altoona is a four-year baccalaureate institution located in the beautiful Allegheny Mountains of Central Pennsylvania. We offer 25 baccalaureate degrees, five associate degrees, and the first two years of more than 160 Penn State baccalaureate majors. Our campus provides a small college teaching environment with the readily available resources of a major research university, making it an ideal location for faculty and students to grow and thrive.
We are seeking a full-time, non-tenure-line Instructor/Assistant Teaching Professor of Special Education to teach courses in Special Education, advise students, engage in scholarship and professional growth, and provide service to the College, community, and the profession. This is a 36-week appointment for the fall and spring semesters, with an August 2024 start date. As an Instructor/Assistant Teaching Professor of Special Education, you will play a critical role in shaping the educational experiences of our students and contributing to the ongoing growth and development of our Elementary and Early Childhood Education program.
Candidates for the position at the rank of Instructor will possess a master's degree, while candidates for the position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor will possess a terminal/doctorate degree at the time of appointment. All candidates must have expertise in Special Education and a strong commitment to teaching, advising, and mentoring students.
