About the position
Responsibilities
• Modify existing software to correct errors or to improve its performance.
• Design, develop and modify software systems to improve efficiency and accuracy of reporting.
• Collaborate with systems analysts, programmers and others to design system enhancements and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
• Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design.
• Must feel comfortable working in a dynamic and flexible environment with changing requirements in a business casual environment.
• Development of high quality database solutions.
• Develop, implement and optimize stored procedures and functions using T-SQL.
• Review and interpret statistical reporting requirements.
• Research required data.
• Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including data dictionaries, database schemas, flow diagrams, etc.
• All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
• Highly proficient in T-SQL or comparable relational database development skills.
• Experience with a modern object-oriented language such as C# or Java.
• Basic knowledge of software version control systems, preferably Git.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in an Agile environment.
• A bachelor's degree with a strong academic record or equivalent work experience.
• 1+ years experience with software development lifecycle to include designing, coding, testing and supporting web and database applications.
Nice-to-haves
• Experience in ISO (Insurance Services Office) statistical reporting.
• Experience in WCSTAT (Workers Compensation Statistical Reporting Specifications) reporting.
• Knowledge of Financial/Insurance Reporting Systems.
• Experience developing .NET web applications using C# and MVC.
• Front-end development experience using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
