POSITION TITLE: Lead Technician CAD
CLASSIFICATION: Exempt
POSITION OVERVIEW:

ADB is seeking a Lead CAD Technician to provide CAD drawing and support within our OSP Engineering division. This is an expert level role that will provide CAD drawing, design, and verification functions for various OSP utility construction projects within a market. The ideal candidate will be customer and quality focused, have a high level of attention to detail, with a strong work ethic and ALL IN attitude.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creates expert-level CAD drawings and details given by the OSP Engineering team to support various ISP/OSP utility construction projects in adherence to their local municipality requirements
- Verify CAD design data against GIS system, ensure quality in both, make corrections when needed
- Contacts local utility owners and cities to obtain all existing records of utilities, research online when needed
- Oversees Level 1-3 CAD design functions including but not limited to, ISP and OSP design and construction drawings including Bill of Materials, easement and Right of Way review, as well as the entire closeout package process
- Create specialty permit drawings including railroads, bridge attachments, and core of engineer crossings
- Create plan and profile drawings for jurisdiction permitting requirements
- Prepares for and leads customer calls on project status
- Provides training and support to Level 1-3 CAD techs on various position duties
- Updates and reviews Engineering tracker on project status, distributes workload to the CAD Team
- Collaborates with construction leaders on forecasting and cost to completes for CAD portion of projects
- Supports CAD and Engineering managers on bidding and estimating functions of projects
- Create plan and profile drawings for jurisdiction permitting requirements
- Supports CAD Manager on various functions, including but not limited to, customer update calls, plan set reviews, and various CAD projects in challenging markets, team member leadership, etc.
- Provides training and support to Level I -Level III CAD techs on various position duties
- Updates and reviews Engineering tracker on project status, distributes workload to Level I - III CAD Tech’s
- Performs other position duties as requested by Supervisor

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This position operates within a temperature-controlled office environment
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, projectors, copy/fax, and smartphones
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- 5+ years of CAD experience within the telecommunications industry required
- Utility construction practices and knowledge required
- Associates degree in Computer Aided Drafting preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent required
The starting pay for this position is $28.00/hr. and may vary based on the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.
