Manufacturing Cost Accountant, Acumatica Exp Required

Job Description: • Maintain and analyze product and project costs in a custom manufacturing environment, including materials, labor, and overhead • Support job and project costing for engineered-to-order work • Perform cost rollups, variance analysis, and post-project cost reviews • Support inventory valuation and reconcile inventory and cost-related accounts to the general ledger • Monitor and analyze inventory reserves, including obsolete and slow-moving inventory • Support cycle counts and physical inventory activities at the manufacturing site • Analyze manufacturing performance and profitability across product lines, projects, and market sectors • Provide margin analysis by job, product line, and customer • Partner with operations and engineering to identify cost drivers, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities • Support Sales and Engineering with: Bids and proposals • Customer quotes • Cost estimates for custom and engineered products • Develop and maintain cost models used for estimating and pricing • Prepare and review cost accounting and inventory-related journal entries • Support month-end close activities related to inventory, WIP, and COGS • Assist with other accounting functions as needed, including reconciliations and reporting • Maintain and support costing and manufacturing data within Acumatica ERP, including: Inventory Management • Bills of Materials (BOMs) • Manufacturing / Production Orders • Work Centers and Routings • Project or job costing functionality • Build and maintain Acumatica reports, dashboards, and Generic Inquiries • Partner with IT, operations, and engineering on ERP enhancements and process improvements Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field • 3+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably custom or project-based • Hands-on experience with Acumatica ERP, particularly in manufacturing, inventory, or project costing modules • Strong understanding of BOM, job costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis • Experience supporting pricing, quoting, or cost estimating activities • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis) • Ability to manage complexity across multiple custom projects and product lines • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with Sales, Engineering, and Operations teams • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment.
