Husson University’s Online Academic Advisors oversee retention, registration, academic planning, and advising for all students enrolled in online and distance education programs. An Academic Advisor’s primary responsibility is to provide superb student support, academic advising, and to meet established online program retention goals. As an Academic Advisor, you will act as the coach and mentor for students throughout their program. You will be there to inspire, motivate, and challenge them.
With options to work fully remote or on our Campus in Bangor, Maine, this position functions as the primary University contact for an assigned set of online students. The Advisor provides student support through academic planning, communication, and outreach to students, as well as providing resources and tools for success. Advisors must also have knowledge of financial aid and billing processes and attend regular trainings. Advisors are consummate professionals who have outstanding oral and written communication skills, customer service skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Advisors provide timely and regular feedback to students, answer all student questions about their programs, keep in regular communication with all students, work with every student on their program plans of study and career goals, and keep detailed records.
