Chemours is seeking an Operations Communications Specialist to join our Advanced Performance Materials (APM) Communications team. This position will be based in Mexico (with flexibility across Latin America) and will report directly to the Global Communications Leader, APM. Role Summary The Operations Communications Specialist supports Chemours’ manufacturing sites by strengthening internal and frontline employee engagement through clear, practical, and consistent communications. Working across the manufacturing circuit, this role partners closely with site, regional, and global leaders to help employees understand Chemours’ business strategy, operational priorities, and vision—and what those mean for their day‑to‑day work. This role focuses on operational and site leadership communications, change and engagement initiatives, and the development of scalable communications toolkits and playbooks that can be leveraged across sites in Mexico and the United States. Issues, crisis, and risk‑based communications are an important component of the role, supporting Chemours’ license to operate. The specialist is part of a broader Operations Communications team and works in close collaboration with fellow specialists and the global communications organization. Periodic travel to U.S. manufacturing sites is required. The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: Expected Outcomes - Manufacturing employees and local stakeholders understand Chemours’ strategy, priorities, and commitment to safety, integrity, and operational excellence. - Site leaders are equipped with clear, practical communications tools to lead effectively through routine operations, change, and moments of heightened risk. - Communications risks are identified early, managed proactively, and escalated appropriately. - Consistent, high‑quality communications toolkits are deployed across Mexico and U.S. sites, enabling speed, clarity, and alignment. Responsibilities (day‑to‑day, physical and mental) - Partner with site and manufacturing leadership to advise, align, and enable effective internal, external, and community communications for assigned manufacturing and remediation sites. - Serve as a trusted communications advisor to site leaders on reputation management, issues preparedness, and high‑visibility or sensitive communications. - Translate enterprise, business, and functional strategies into clear, employee‑relevant messaging for frontline and manufacturing audiences. - Develop communications plans to support operational priorities, including site improvement initiatives, growth projects, permitting activities, and environmental or emissions‑related programs. - Create scalable communications materials (toolkits, FAQs, leader talking points, templates) that can be used consistently across Mexico and U.S. manufacturing sites. - Provide communications support during site incidents or crises, including preparedness planning, message development, coordination with Legal/EHS, and post‑incident communications. - Support media relations and public‑visibility activities, including message development, spokesperson preparation, and issue escalation in partnership with global and regional Communications. - Build and maintain relationships with local media, community leaders, and key external stakeholders near manufacturing sites. - Support community engagement initiatives, including philanthropy, Vibrant Communities activities, and STEM or workforce‑focused outreach, as appropriate. - Coordinate with external consultants or agencies supporting site‑level reputation, engagement, or communications initiatives. The following is required for this role: Education Requirements and/or Equivalent Experience - Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Technical Experience Required - 7+ years of professional communications experience spanning internal communications, issues and crisis communications, media relations, and community engagement. - 4–5+ years of experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, chemical, energy, or similarly regulated operating environments. - Demonstrated experience advising leaders on sensitive, high‑visibility, or risk‑based communications. - Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to simplify complex or technical topics for frontline and manufacturing audiences. - Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, exercise sound judgment, and remain effective under time pressure. The following is preferred for this role: Additional Education Preferred - Advanced degree or professional certification in communications, public relations, or a related discipline. Technical Experience Preferred - Experience working across multiple countries or regions, particularly Mexico and the United States. - Experience developing communications toolkits or playbooks for distributed manufacturing or operations teams. - Familiarity with EHS, regulatory, or permitting communications in an industrial environment. - Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency.
