Job Summary:
Serve as a part‑time clinical educator for Associate Degree Nursing
students in acute, long‑term care, community, and simulation
settings. Provide direct supervision, instruction, and evaluation
of 6–8 students per clinical day to facilitate achievement of
course and program outcomes in alignment with Oregon State Board of
Nursing ( OSBN ) OAR 851‑021 and ACEN standards.
Required Qualifications:

• Licensure: Current, unencumbered Oregon RN license (or
eligibility for licensure by hire date).
• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing ( BSN ) from a
regionally accredited institution. Per OSBN OAR 851‑021‑0045,
faculty may be appointed while actively enrolled in an MSN
program.
• Clinical Experience: Recent clinical practice expertise
relevant to assigned teaching area.
• Compliance: Ability to meet clinical partner onboarding
requirements (immunizations, CPR‑BLS, background check, drug
screen).
• Teaching Readiness: Demonstrated commitment to
culturally responsive, inclusive teaching and student success.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master of Science in Nursing ( MSN ) or higher degree in
nursing.
• Formal teaching or precepting experience in academic or
clinical settings, including use of high‑fidelity simulation.
• Professional certification in specialty area (e.g., CMSRN,
RNC‑OB) and/or Nurse Educator certification ( CNE ).
• Bilingual or multilingual abilities to support diverse student
populations.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
• Clinical shifts up to 12 hours with prolonged standing,
walking, bending, and patient movement.
• Ability to lift and move up to 35 lbs, assist with patient
transfers, and perform CPR .
• Work may include days, evenings, nights, and/or weekends based
on program need and clinical site availability.
Essential Duties:
• Plan, supervise, and evaluate student learning in assigned
clinical, skills‑lab, and/or simulation environments.
• Conduct orientation, pre‑conference, and post‑conference
sessions; coach students in clinical reasoning, evidence‑based
practice, safe patient care, and documentation.
• Assess student performance using rubric‑based tools; provide
timely formative and summative feedback; complete written
evaluations and grades.
• Select appropriate patient assignments in collaboration with
facility staff; act as liaison between college and clinical
partners.
• Maintain student and patient safety; intervene promptly to
correct unsafe practice.
• Document attendance, grades, incident reports, and other
required records within established timelines.
• Participate in faculty meetings, course and curriculum
evaluation, accreditation, and program assessment activities.
• Maintain current clinical competence and engage in professional
development in teaching, equity‑minded pedagogy, simulation, and
emerging technologies.
• Uphold college, program, clinical site, and regulatory policies
including FERPA, HIPAA, infection‑control, and safety
standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Nurse Administrator /
Dean.

Salary and Compensation Information:
Courses are paid on a per-credit basis. New Part-time Faculty begin
at Step 1 of the payscale, with steps being “rolled” once per term,
if eligible.

• Table 1 illustrates the cost per credit for each step on the
pay scale. Instructors new to the College typically start at the
rate listed in column 1.
• Table 3 illustrates the compensation per hour for meetings,
training, advising, curriculum development, or other related
work.

• As a condition of employment, all new employees are required to
be compensated via direct deposit.
• Offers of employment are contingent on the applicant having
Oregon residency at the time work commences.
