Bessemer Trust is a family office overseeing $250 billion in assets for wealthy individuals and families. They are seeking a Reconciliation Analyst to manage various reconciliations, maintain departmental procedures, and coordinate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile various General Ledger Accounts (liability, asset and receivable accounts, and suspense accounts)
- Reconcile domestic and international bank accounts
- Reconcile security purchases, sales, dividends, interest, and fees
- Maintain accurate and current departmental desktop procedures
- Investigate and research reconciling items, breaks, and discrepancies in a timely manner
- Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., Finance, Treasury, and Operations) to resolve differences
- Monitor and escalate aged breaks in accordance with established procedures
- Process various journal entries in trust accounting system and general ledger
- Contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, and system enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Participate in audits, and internal reviews by providing requested documentation and explanations
- Assist other members of the Bank Operations team around deadlines with time sensitive projects
- Be available to work unannounced overtime when needed
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
- 1–2 years of experience in bank operations, reconciliations, accounting, or financial services operations
- Working knowledge of cash, securities, and general ledger reconciliation processes
- High attention to detail with the ability to identify, analyze, and resolve discrepancies
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong work ethic (self-motivated, disciplined, focused and hardworking)
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of Oracle
