Position Overview – Remote Entry-Level Project Engineer
The Entry‑Level Project Engineer role is a gateway to an exciting technical career in pipeline hydraulics and drag‑reduction science. Reporting to the Manager, Engineering & Technical Services, you will become the go‑to technical resource for both internal sales teams and external customers seeking to maximize the performance of their liquid hydrocarbon pipelines. Key Responsibilities
- Technical Training & Development: Participate in comprehensive training programs, webinars, and mentorship sessions to build a solid foundation in drag‑reduction science, pipeline hydraulics, and LSPI’s proprietary software tools.
- Customer‑Facing Technical Support: Under supervision, serve as a technical liaison for LSPI sales engineers and external clients, providing guidance on the selection, sizing, and implementation of flow‑improver products.
- Modeling & Prediction: Run LSPI’s in‑house modeling applications and proprietary prediction equations to generate detailed Technical Service Reports (TSRs) that quantify the economic and operational impact of drag‑reducers on customer pipelines.
- Field Test Design & Execution: Design, coordinate, and conduct on‑site field trials of LSPI products, collect performance data, perform rigorous analysis, and document findings in clear, actionable TSRs.
- Tool & Data Maintenance: Assist in the upkeep of LSPI’s performance equations, hydraulic calculators (e.g., shear‑point calculator, nozzle spreadsheets), and the Engineering Technical Services (ETS) SharePoint site, ensuring information is current and accessible.
- Business Development Support: Provide technical insights for new business proposals, RFP responses, and product development initiatives, helping to translate engineering data into compelling value propositions.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with manufacturing, field operations, supply chain, and product management teams to ensure seamless delivery of solutions and continuous improvement of LSPI’s service offering.
- Project Management Fundamentals: Manage multiple small‑scale projects simultaneously, tracking milestones, deliverables, and timelines while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
