Operations Manager (East Coast) We're hiring an Operations Manager! This is a remote position - candidates must be located in NY state. Candidates must be able to travel/drive/fly/stay overnight at business & client locations as needed. Education • 4-year degree or equivalent experience • Preferred Experience in Operations, Government, Finance, Education, Nutrition Experience Preferred candidates will have a background in school operation, school nutrition, and/or customer service. The ideal candidate is… • Passionate - You have a demonstrated interest in supporting students’ learning, health and/or wellbeing. • Perfectly organized - both digitally and IRL. You love agendas, checking off lists, and taking notes. • A self-guided, avid learner - You have a penchant for taking in new information, from both interpersonal and written policy. You can speedily identify context and application. You can stay abreast of ever-changing state and federal school food policy in order to guide school clients. • Detail-oriented - You spot errors in written materials as well as identifying errors in the delivery of training. You have the critical thinking skills to apply solutions to both. • Personable and charismatic - We will supply the ring light and the webcam, but your natural charisma will captivate a crowd of anywhere between 1 and 50 when leading a meeting. You have the confidence to provide timely feedback in a clear and professional manner. • A clear communicator - You regularly adapt your written and verbal communication to a variety of audiences and objectives. You can pull the important takeaways out of complicated policies in order to guide our clients in providing high-quality, compliant school food programming. • Comfortable with ambiguity - You accept that problems are multi-faceted–and you don’t shy away from engaging in thinking through solutions to specific situations, as each school client is unique. • A natural team player - We are a small group and everyone’s work contributions matter; we collaborate frequently to achieve our shared mission. Job duties & responsibilities: Serve as a policy expert in these areas • NSLP, SBP, CACFP, SFSP • Wellness • School operation • Education Charter politics Support School Clients • Visit schools • Lead meeting • Assist with application and manage state reporting • Conduct procurement Lead clients through the maze that is the USDA • Assist in SFA creation for new clients • Understand program operations • Create and roll out required meal program policies and procedures • Train clients in rules and regulations • Audits meal program operations for compliance • Build relationships with food vendors and be a liaison for clients • Provide financial reporting assistance and review Oversee audits and reviews • Manage client Administrative Reviews • Be onsite to support
