Senior Business Analyst
A large organization is developing a portfolio of digital services designed to enable transformational efficiencies with external service providers and support clients in their journey through its programs. A Senior Business Analyst is required to support the building and enhancement of this digital services portfolio. The Senior Business Analyst will serve as a critical bridge between business stakeholders and the technical delivery team, focusing on senior business analysis activities, including writing user stories, managing the product backlog, and facilitating Agile ceremonies to ensure the technical team delivers maximum business value.
Responsibilities include eliciting, documenting, and analyzing business, stakeholder, and solution requirements from internal teams and external stakeholders. The role involves translating business needs into clear and actionable requirements such as user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, and workflow descriptions suitable for agile delivery. The analyst will collaborate with product owners and development teams to create, refine, and maintain the product backlog, participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and daily standups, and work closely with technical teams to clarify requirements and resolve ambiguities. Additional responsibilities include supporting quality assurance activities such as developing test scenarios and coordinating user acceptance testing, analyzing user workflows to identify opportunities for process efficiencies and incremental enhancements, maintaining accurate documentation including process flows and supporting materials, supporting reporting requirements and dashboard development, assisting in the development of user documentation and training materials, and providing ongoing operational support including issue triage, impact analysis, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
This position is hybrid or fully remote with occasional in person attendance required for onboarding and key stakeholder meetings.
Qualifications:
10 years - demonstrated experience performing business analysis within complex enterprise environments, preferably within government or large organizations
10 years - experience supporting technology delivery initiatives in an agile or iterative environment, including backlog management, user story development, and sprint support activities
Post secondary diploma or degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline
Demonstrated experience working within Microsoft Dynamics 365 or comparable enterprise CRM or case management platforms
Experience collaborating with cross functional teams, including business stakeholders, product owners, and technical delivery teams, to support ongoing system enhancements and issue resolution
Experience developing and refining user stories, acceptance criteria, and managing requirements within a product backlog
Experience leading stakeholder engagement activities, including gathering input from business users and facilitating discussions to clarify requirements
Experience planning and leading business analysis workshops, including facilitation style, tools, techniques, or methodologies used
Experience eliciting, documenting, and managing business and solution requirements for enterprise applications
Experience translating business needs into user stories, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria in collaboration with technical teams
Experience supporting testing activities, including development of test cases, coordination of user acceptance testing, and validation of delivered functionality against requirements
Experience supporting the enhancement and ongoing improvement of business facing digital services or enterprise applications
Experience working within cross functional teams to support continuous improvement, manage competing priorities, and contribute to the delivery of incremental enhancements
Nice to Have:
Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI PBA), Prosci Change Management Certification, or equivalent recognized credentials
Experience leading change management activities including tools, techniques, and methodologies used
Experience using iterative approaches, prototyping, or low code tools to validate and refine requirements with stakeholders
Experience supporting data and analytics initiatives, such as defining reporting requirements and collaborating with technical teams to support dashboards or reporting solutions
