About the Role
This position is part of the Revenue and Planning Technology team within our Technology group at blithequark. As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll leverage your data engineering, collaboration, and analytical skills to design and deliver analytics solutions, making data analysis more efficient and effective.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with source data application teams and product owners to design, implement, and support analytics solutions that provide actionable insights.
- Implement data migration and data engineering solutions using a range of technologies and tools, including cloud-based services and traditional data warehouse tools.
- Engage in multiple aspects of the development lifecycle, from design and cloud engineering to ingestion, preparation, data modeling, testing, CICD pipelines, performance tuning, deployments, utilization, BI, alerting, and support.
- Provide technical leadership and collaborate within a team environment while also working independently.
- Be part of a DevOps team that fully owns and supports their product, implementing batch and streaming data pipelines using cloud technologies.
- Drive the development of coding standards, best practices, and protection and security guidelines.
- Mentor others on technical and domain skills to create multi-functional teams.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training.
- At least 3 years of programming solution development experience using agile, DevOps, working in a product model that includes designing, developing, and implementing large-scale applications or data engineering solutions.
- At least 3 years of data analysis experience using SQL.
- A mix of Development, Operations, and Support experience in several of the following tools/platforms:
- Scripting: Python, Flash, Unix, SQL.
- Data Platforms: Teradata, Cassandra, MongoDB, Prophet, SQL Server, ADLS, Snowflake.
- Cloud Technologies: Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Mass Storage, Azure Data Lake, Azure Power Applications, and Azure Functions.
- CI/CD: GitHub, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Terraform.
- BI Analytics Tool Stack - Cognos, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Denodo, and Grafana.
- Data Warehousing: DataStage, Informatica.
- Data Governance and Protection: Informatica Axon and EDC, BigID.
Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, having the following qualifications can make you an even more competitive candidate:
- 3+ years of programming solution development experience using agile, DevOps, product model that includes designing, developing, and implementing large-scale applications or data engineering solutions.
- 3+ years of data analysis experience using SQL.
- 3+ years of full-stack development experience, ideally in Azure.
- 3+ years of cloud development and data lake experience (preferably Microsoft Azure), including Azure EventHub, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, ADX, ASA, Azure Databricks, Azure DevOps, Azure Mass Storage, Azure Data Lake, Azure Power Applications, and Power BI.
- Aviation industry experience.
Skills, Licenses, and Certifications
To excel in this role, you'll need:
- Proficiency with the Azure Technology stack for data management, data ingestion, capture, processing, curation, and consumption layers.
- Expertise in providing functional direction within the Azure Native cloud services.
- Azure Development Track Certificate (preferred).
- Flash Certification (preferred).
