We are seeking an experienced English Curriculum Developer to design a comprehensive, leveled English Language Arts program using structured literacy principles. The curriculum will be organized into leveled booklets and follow a clear scope and sequence.
This role requires strong knowledge of the five pillars of literacy:
Phonemic Awareness
Phonics
Vocabulary
Fluency
Reading Comprehension
and the ability to design systematic progression across levels.
Responsibilities:
Design full ELA scope & sequence
Structure phonics and phonemic awareness progression
Develop vocabulary and fluency frameworks
Create reading comprehension development pathway
Design grammar and writing progression
Organize content into leveled booklets
Review and edit writer-created content
Ensure instructional consistency and quality
Curriculum Must Include:
Systematic phonics instruction
Explicit phonemic awareness activities
Vocabulary development strategies
Reading fluency practice
Comprehension skill scaffolding
Writing composition frameworks
Requirements:
Elementary literacy teaching background
Training or experience with Orton-Gillingham or structured literacy approaches
Curriculum development experience
Strong understanding of ELA learning progressions
Experience designing leveled instructional programs
