We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytically minded developer with strong Python programming skills, solid experience in SQL, and a proven ability to debug and resolve complex data issues. Key Responsibilities
- Write clean and maintainable Python code.
- Collaborate with teammates to design and implement features in a shared, version-controlled Python codebase.
- Design, develop, and maintain internal code-based tools and applications that enable business units to perform their roles more efficiently and effectively.
- Debug data issues and identify root causes to ensure data accuracy.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other business units to understand and resolve data-related issues.
- Engage with stakeholders across different business units to gather requirements, understand their business needs, and translate those needs into technical solutions and data products.
- Build user-friendly interfaces and automation tools that streamline business processes and reduce manual work.
- Learn P&C insurance concepts and products and apply this knowledge to develop code-based solutions that meet business needs.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proficiency in Python with experience in large codebases and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Strong SQL skills, with the ability to write complex queries and understand data structures.
- Experience building internal tools, utilities, or applications that solve business problems and improve operational efficiency.
- Understanding of user experience principles and ability to create intuitive interfaces for non-technical users.
- Experience with automation and process improvement through code-based solutions.
- Experience debugging and resolving data issues, with a focus on root cause analysis.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a role that involves Python development and data analysis.
- Familiarity with P&C insurance is a plus.
The base salary for this role can range from $85,000 to $105,000 based on a full-time work schedule. An individual’s ultimate compensation will vary depending on job-related skills and experience, geographic location, alignment with market data, and equity among other team members with comparable experience
